I am joining all my fellow readers and Sam for WWW! My original plan from January was to read some classics…yeah, that went swell. “I’ve been missing my classics…so my plan is to read a couple off that list. To get me through the rest of winter I’m thinking 20 Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, Diary of Anne Frank, One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich.” So I didn’t do that…at all. After I finished The Screwtape Letters, one of these books was my intent, but I realized I wasn’t reading as much as I had been and I didn’t want to get out a library book, just to renew it twelve times to finish it. (okay, fine…that’s a slight exaggeration. So I started another book that I had at home, canceled 20 Thousand for now cause I had a ‘V’ author, pushed off Anne Frank until summer and Ivan Denisovich until fall. Ah well, plans always change. Have to be fluid!
The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis – I thought it was good to see temptations and sin from hell’s perspective, if you will. It really convicted me as to my behaviors and attitudes.
Still Alice by Lisa Genova – I have wanted to read this book for a while, but never got around to it. I decided to finally just do it!! It’s not hard to read and understand, but it’s hard to read because of the topic. I find myself feeling fuzzied and empathizing with her memory troubles. I’m 34% with it right now!
I think I’ll read Breakfast at Tiffany’s by Truman Capote as it’s a short read and I haven’t been reading much lately, so I assume the trend will continue!
