I can’t tell you the last time I did a Favorites Friday. Well…I guess I could because I could go look back in my blog archives. Okay…
*I’m not telling you the last time I did a Favorites Friday because I don’t want to take the time to go back and look.
So a favorite tv show of mine is The Great British Baking Show. If you haven’t heard of it, you should check it out! (netflix!) It’s absolutely delightful to watch! I don’t know half of the foods that they are instructed to make nor many of the ingredients they use….but it’s enjoyable to watch anyhow!
It’s so different than most of the American cooking shows, which is such a huge draw for my family! Why is it different you ask? Well, I shall tell you.
Mel and Sue. need I say more? they are hysterical and the puns are terribly fantastic. Mel’s glancing at the camera after a pun is priceless. the way they interact with the contestants just cracks me up
there’s no screaming, yelling, or angry tantrums from any of the contestants or any of the judges
hearing contestants say, repeatedly, “I tried it two or three times at home and it never really turned out the way I wanted it to”
the music that plays in the background is delightful!! it’s calming and soothing
no language whatsoever = family friendly
the contestants are actually nice and friendly with each other and with the judges. the contestants, often times, will help each other whenever they get into a jam
listening to everybody’s sass about the technical challenges
even if something doesn’t taste the greatest or look the greatest, the judges are tactful about it. not insulting or rude
the rewatchableness of the show. i can watch the same seasons and episodes multiple times and i’m not bored with it
the scenery and nature around The Tent is absolutely gorgeous. the flowers and trees are lovely. the little black sheep and the fluttering birds just add something special to the show
listening to everyone talk. again, need I say more? the accents are to die for
