About a week ago I posted a “list” of prayers to pray for your future husband. (from here on out I will say future husband, as that’s my situation. tweak and apply as needed to fit your status) Today I’m going to write about one of those prayers! I hope that you find this helpful and guiding in your prayers. I have found, as I work through these, that many of these prayers overlap and I think that is a super neat thing!!
Unity as a Couple
This is a fun prayer to pray in my opinion! You are asking God to bring you together in unity. This could mean all sorts of things from serious to fun. You want to be brought close together for many different reasons. To help you decide if he’s the one. To find things you enjoy doing together so as to spend together. You like this guy and want to do things with him. But …you might feel nervous and awkward and uncomfortable. You might be super comfortable in a crowd of people with him, but one on one, you fall silent and nervous. Or vice versa!! You might be super chatty and charming one on one, but in a crowd of people….you are a church mouse. >>cue this prayer!!☺️
Pray that as you get to know each other more, you grow more comfortable together. That things would feel less awkward and that they would come more naturally. – Spending lots of time together doing all sorts of things will help this happen.
Pray that you can find things you enjoy doing together. This will help the previous one! Do fun things that you already like to do or that he already likes to do. Go find new things that you’ve never done before. Visit new places. Watch new movies. Listen to new music. Bake new food. Try anything and everything! You never know when you’ll find your “thing”.
Pray for comfort and ease in doing the normal, mundane, every day things. The stuff you have to do or that isn’t as fun and exciting….that’s where things can become silent and awkward. Ask random questions to fill the silence. Put some music on to have background noise.(seriously, try this) And even remember, guys don’t always have to be talking and carrying on. They are sometimes just as happy to be quiet for a little bit, and they don’t find that “awkward silence” awkward at all.
